blah, blah. Kyo confesses he could have saved Tohru’s mom but didn’t. Tohru continues to look for a cure to the bond, which basically consists of her moaning about how unworthy she is. I just read these books without remembering a thing from 18. To many people who look alike and act alike. Everytime I am like “Ok, who is THIS character again?”. Bleh.

this manga is no longer about Tohru, but about the cursed Soma family. I don’t like this. Every single member of the clan is the most messed up person ever. Doesn’t exactly make for uplifting reading. Ever time I get tempted to go buy Fruits Basket, I just read the next volume and it depresses me and the desire to buy disappears

Akito is a woman! and she has a crazy mother. This family just gets weirder and more and more screwed up.

I am getting sick of everyone feeling sorry for themselves. If it were just a couple of people, that would be one thing, but when it is EVERY single one of the Zodiac family, all feeling “bad”, it gets on my nerves. Probably because I want to read encouraging, positive stories and these don’t seem to be. If Tohru is supposed to be some kind of Curse Breaker/Savior for them all, she is taking her sweet time doing it. It is just weepy/girly, too much so.

Tohru meets Akito. He appears to be severely warped, psychologically, somehow. He is scary.

Tohru-san meets more of the Sohma family. I am enjoying this series. It gets complicated with so many characters who all have nicknames and pet names though.

A girl ends up living in a household where the people are the chinese zodiac. if they are hugged by someone of the opposite sex, they turn into the animal they represent. The lead female is a very “optimistic” and “cheerful” type. I enjoyed these two enough to keep on reading it for awhile anyway.
