…to realize that the best of life lies in the daily needs of existence, and to battle for them!
~ Zane Grey in “The Last of the Plainsmen”
I kind of feel like I’m cheating with 2 Quote posts this month, but while Jeeves made me laugh, this just made me sit up at attention and exclaim “You tell’em Grey!”
Nah, not cheating! Post as many quote posts as you like! They’re fun to read. 🙂

I like them because it also doubles up as a “Currently Reading” without having to actually post that 😀
Yankee thriftiness at its finest!

That’s a good way to double-up on posts! Keeps life interesting, too. 🙂

I guess I was in my twenties when I finally realized life does not run like a movie and the best things are all the little things that make up a day.

Isn’t that the truth?! I get more enjoyment out of a quiet hour reading a good book than anything big and boisterous that might be “exciting” 🙂

The epiphany came when I was looking at Vermeer’s paintings and wondering why I liked it so much when it was just a woman pouring milk from a jug or someone at a desk reading a letter. It is the mundane that can be the most profound.

With such good quotes, there is no cheating involved!
Keep ’em coming! 🙂

I’m thinking of doing this again in December. It allows me to share something I like, is an easy post and allows people to see what I’m currently reading.
It is like a triple win 🙂

I think this story/book was supposed to be auto-biographical? It was kind of hard to tell what was real and what was just fictionalized.
