(’cause tags stink)
MY BLOG’S NAME IN BOOKS

RULES:
1) Spell out your blog’s name.(this is where you wish your blog’s name was shorter LOL)
2) Find a book from your TBR that begins with each letter. (Note you cannot ADD to your TBR to complete this challenge – the books must already be on your Goodread’s TBR)
BOOKSTOOGE PROCLAIMETH:
Goodreads is Evil. There is no getting around that. So, as an Avatar of Justice and Righteousness, with the cleansing flames of destruction roundabout me, I will choose books from my Calibre library that have the TBR tag.

Wow, with all those O’s, I feel like I’m a bowl of Cheerios or something!
As it was, I didn’t have enough actual “O” books so I had to cheat! I hang my head in shame. Piotrek, Olag, can I join you in the “Cheater’s Corner”?
All of these books will be started within the next year or so. And it is wicked good I didn’t have to include my little byline: “Without a Good Book, Life’s Road is Hell”. My goodness, with that, this post alone would probably push me over the WordPress storage limit with adding pictures for so many words.
Also, I think this might be a new record for me. Two (Tag) posts within 2 weeks? CRAAAAAAZY!
I know none of these books, and that just means that I must now dive headfirst into ALL of them, right? That’s how this discovering books works, right?
Also all those covers look SO pretty and inviting, and I love them!

Not a one? You definitely need to read the Wheel of Time anyway!
In all openness, there were a couple of titles I skipped to add these solely based on the covers 😀

I have a confession – when I have a visitor staying I want to impress, I rearrange my bookshelves to draw attention to my prettiest book covers in the hopes of inspiring book-envy!
I shall make a note to put Wheel of Time to the top of tbr recommendations then!

Heheehe, I certainly understand that desire.
As for WoT, how many books a year do you typically read? WoT is a pretty big investment at 14 BIG books…

Eeee, that’s more than expected! I don’t know, I never count, but I guess maybe 15?
Not to worry, I’ll just keep an eye out for them secondhand, that always slows the reading process down! Is it a series that absolutely has to be read in order?

Yes, it is one epic storyline. No skipping of books or it won’t make sense.
If you’re in the under 20 club, I’d be really hesitant to go for these. You’re talking about a year or more, with nothing else. That’s a recipe for burnout…

Ah well, I’ll stick them down for the ‘To Read When Your Life Calms Down’ List then! But seriously, thanks for the advice, it’s always good to know about cool books even if they are a big undertaking!

Go ahead, point fingers all you want 😀 And for your information, it isn’t just a corner – with your help we’ll take over the whole room in no time! 😛 Btw, I finished Black Company ;-( Are the Garret PI books any good?

I liked them, but they got repetitive after a while.

Good to know. Thanks for letting us know…

I have no idea if Garrett is any good. I’m just finishing up his Dread Empire series and have a couple of smaller trilogies of his to work through before I get to Garrett. It’s a big series and a fantasy urban noir detective, so we’ll see if it catches my fancy or not 🙂

I also wanted to ask, this series is on my radar, and I’m going to read at least the first book, at some point.
Also, I have to admit we weren’t the first ones to get creative with the rules of engagement here, but I won’t be pointing any fingers 😉

Well, I guess it is a race to see who can start Garrett the slowest 😀

I will not be doing this for Planetary Defense Command.

Those are indeed some pretty covers! I especially like the calligraphy on The Bear and the Serpent.

The whole “Echoes of the Fall” series looks really nice…

I don’t recall seeing their covers before. If they have even semi-decent reviews, they’d be worth buying just to have on my shelf…

You can’t go wrong with Tchaikovsky. I’m on my re-read of his 10 book Shadows of the Apt series and it’s even better the second time. The man is a wordsmith…

Awesome! I don’t think I’d heard of his books before seeing that amazing cover.

I might try this some time…

It took a bunch of work since I used digital pix instead of a group pix like Pio and Olag.
But it was fun 🙂

Fun tag! You should have had no issues with the amount you read (and the number of books you have on your tbr) so blog title length shouldn’t be an issue. What you should be thankful for is not having any weird letters like X or Z in your blog name!

Yeah, having an elder god’s unpronounceable name might seem cool when one is a teen, but when you’re trying to tell people about your website in 15 years, well… 😉

There’s something about seeing big cover books on the screen that gets me every time…I don’t know. I just get a craving…Reynolds, Wright, Tchaikovsky (the last one, a novella, did not do anything for me).

Yeah, I remember your review of that Tchaikovsky book. I still say dive in to his Shadows of the Apt series.
And I agree with you. Book covers are like food photos to me too.

Interested to know what you think of The Shadow of What Was Lost once you read it. I didn’t really dig it.

I’m hoping the final book will be out by the time I get around to it and so can read the whole trilogy.
Just as an FYI, I went over to your site to see if you’d posted your thoughts on “Shadow of What Was Lost” and I couldn’t find a search bar or an archive. You might want to think about adding the search…

I almost bought the book the other week. It looked so pretty haha. But then I thought I better check out some reviews first. Now I will wait for Bookstooge to read it, thank you for checking it out for me 😀

Well, just be aware that it was down near the bottom of my tbr list, so we are probably talking a year minimum, probably closer to 2, before I get to them?
Hope you have the patience!

It’s not high priority so that’s fine 😀

You’re probably right. For a long time it seemed we didn’t really have enough articles to justify any kind of search functionality. I guess we’re at that point now 🙂

Definitely have reached that point! It is a good place to have gotten to 😉

I’m far too lazy to rise up to the challenge 😀 but I took note of a couple of interesting titles, so rest assured that your valiant effort did not get wasted! 😉

hehehe I love how you do tags! And I personally thought Shadow of What was Lost was underrated, but most of the other people I’ve seen talk about it didn’t like it as much, so it’ll be interesting to see your thoughts on it!

This was a nice way to look at what you’ve added to your TBR. Was nice to see Shadow of what was Lost in there. I have that one and plan on reading it soon (next month? or the other?). And I like that the third one should be coming out this August too. If everything goes according to plan I should be able to dive into them without any huge wait in between each one hahah

Excellent, that means you’ll get to well before me and I can get your opinion on the whole thing.
I’m really tired of reading a trilogy/series that tanks on me right at the end…
