The Strain #2
Guillermo Del Toro & Chuck Hogan
Epub, 267 Pages
the rogue vampire takes out all the other ancients by blowing up nuclear plants where their bodies are. So in one blow he takes out the competition, destroys humanities ability to fight back and extends night over the planet. Definitely a middle book where things look their bleakest. The old jew vampire hunter dies, the boy is kidnapped, humanity is on the ropes. Not as engaging as the first book however.
A perfect tie-in to Vampire Hunter D. The fall of humanity, the rise of the vampire lord.
Of course, this isn’t a tie-in, and we still have one book left. I didn’t find this story as engaging as the first and it seems impossible for humanity to make a comeback.
I’ll read the next, and final, book. But I am not holding my breath.
